This project will lead to the development of a hybrid course in Elementary Swahili. By designing online modules to reinforce the learning of vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening through web-based materials to be accessible through D2L. The online modules will motivate students’ input processing and enhance guided output production. The online materials that the project will generate will ensure self-paced learning and allow learners time to adjust their performance and maximize their use of online language resources at their expediency. The hybrid course will allow the instructor to expose students to a wide range of authentic materials, which in turn will create a real-world context where the target language is used. This project will enable the Hub faculty fellow to design the online modules, and learn, seek and get help in using various technology tools.
